Who will pay attention to the syntax of things? Who will never wholly kiss you?  You will be a fool while spring is in the world.

My blood approves; kisses are a far better fate than is wisdom, this I swear by all the flowers.  Don’t cry, the best gesture of my brain is less than eyelids’ flutter which say we are meant for eachother.  Then, laugh, lean back in my arms, for life is not a paragraph and death has no parenthesis. ♥

Free writing: Democrat or Republican September 8, 2008

As of late I have had trouble deciding whether I am a democrat or republican.  I was totally out of touch with and sort of politicol knowledge until last year when I realized that it is my responsibility as an American, and as an adult, to care who is going to make my decisions for me for the next four years.  I have friends who seem to be political genuises and who constantly are asking of my politcal views and while my answers have improved over the last few years they are still what many people would consider extremely weak.  Lats year during spring semester I stood in line, in the freezing cold, for aproximatley 3 hours to watch a man named Borock Obama speak at the Bangor Civic Center.  I knew that he was running for the presidency, and I knew he was a democrat, but other than that basic knowledge, I knew nothing about his campaign.  After hours of screaming fans and confident speakers you would think my knowledge concerning Mr.Obama’s campaign would have improved, wrong.  All that was running through my mind was political jargon and the now famous phrase “YES WE CAN”.

About Me September 6, 2008

Bryleigh grew up in the great state of Maine in a tiny little town called Gardiner.  She completed her pre-college education there and enjoyed it extensively.  In high school she played field hockey, and basketball, she continues to play both of those here at the university on club teams.  Her favorite hobbies are going running and taking dance classes.  She would actually find it more appropriate to say that dance is her passion, not just a hobby.  She has been dancing since she was three years old and has been trained in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and hip-hop.  She continued taking dance after high school by choosing dance as a minor and taking dance classes for credit here at the university of maine.  If she had it her way, she would be living in New York pursueing a career on broadway or something like that, but unfortunatley she doesn’t have money to just up and move to New York and live life meal to meal looking for respectable dancing jobs. So, she will try her best to fulfil her dancing needs in Maine. Anyway, it came time for her to figure out what she wanted to do with her life at U-Maine, she knew that she was terrible at science, and even worse at Math, so it only seemed logical that she pursue something in writing.  She has always enjoyed writing and reading and she also has always liked to be on camera.  This is how she arrived at picking the major; broadcast journalism.  Her plan so far is to get her degree, and once she graduates, to move to New York. Once in New York she will then pursue a dance career with a degree in her back pocket that she can use if the dancing dream doesn’t work out.

Why I am in Here. September 3, 2008

I am in this class not only to fulfill a requirement for my major, broadcast journalism, but also because I enjoy writing. In this class I am looking forward to learning how to watch and read the news with more purpose, and also how to write about it more effectively. I understand that to be a television reporter or an broadcaster on a radio station that it is imperative to be able to discuss and write about current events and pressing subjects in an informed and educated way.

I need to be able to write with appeal to the mass media because my career goal is to be a reporter of some sort. I am not exactly sure how the script portion comes to life for a reporter, but I imagine that I would have a hand in contriving what I say on what could be, national television or national radio.
